I love making crochet dishcloths, especially in the summer! They are a great take-along project and work up quickly. And they are great for practicing different stitches and stitch combinations. Plus, there is such a simple pleasure that can be had from using a handmade dishcloth. They are also perfect to give as gifts … just add some scented soap in a little basket and you have the perfect housewarming or hostess gift!

So get ready because we will be having some kitchen fun here next month with a new kitchen pattern each week including these 4 cheery dishcloth designs and a fun Tunisian dish drying mat. So break out that cotton yarn! You can click here to see the patterns as they are released.

While this seems like a very beautiful pattern, I am confused…I seem to be getting less stitches as I go. There are no chains between the [sc1 and dc1] and the skipped stitches? Help 🙁

      • Kara November 10, 2014 at 7:31 pm #

Hi Christine 🙂 which pattern are you working on?

Cute patterns! I have some cotton laying around so I will be definately trying to follow!
One question though: on what kind of temperature do you wash them in the washing machine (front loader)?

    • Leslie June 26, 2013 at 7:04 pm #

I have washed mine several times in my front loading washer on the regular/normal cycle using warm water. They hold up really well!

      • Kara June 26, 2013 at 9:58 pm #

        Thanks, Leslie!

    • Kara June 26, 2013 at 10:17 pm #

Hi Barbara 🙂 I just throw them in with the rest of my towels and rags on warm or hot and they come out nicely.
