Use your finished crochet holly as an embellishment for gift wrapping, gift tags, wreaths, napkin rings, Christmas garlands, ornaments, or holiday appliqués. You could even attach a pin backing and wear it as a festive brooch.

Short Stem
Keeping the front of the leaf facing you, sl st in the next ch-3 sp, ch 5, sl st in the 2nd ch from the hook and in each of the next 3 chs, then sl st in the same ch-3 sp to join.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Crochet Holly Berries
Make three.
Do not begin with a slip knot. Instead, make a loop by placing the skein end of the yarn over the tail end, then pull a loop through. This loop counts as the first ch. Ch 2.

In the 2nd ch from the hook, work 2 dc without completing the final yo of either stitch. Yo and pull through all 3 loops on the hook. Sl st in the same ch to join.
Pull the yarn end to tighten the stitches into a small ball. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing the berry to the holly leaf.
Finishing
Using a yarn needle and the long yarn tails, sew the three berries securely to the holly leaf. Weave in any remaining ends.
Use your finished holly as an appliqué, gift topper, ornament, garland decoration, napkin-ring embellishment, or festive brooch.
