Woodland Christmas Tree Crochet Pattern

Pattern Notes

Woodland Crochet Christmas Tree Instructions

Ch 4.

Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as a dc here and throughout), work 1 dc in the next st, then work 1 dc in the center ch-1 sp. Keeping the working yarn in front of the twig, ch 1 and work 1 dc in the same ch-1 sp. Work 1 dc in each of the remaining 2 sts, turn — 6 dc and 1 ch-1 sp.

Row 3: Ch 3, work 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts, then work 1 dc in the center ch-1 sp. Keeping the working yarn in front of the twig, ch 1 and work 1 dc in the same ch-1 sp. Work 1 dc in each of the remaining 3 sts, turn — 8 dc and 1 ch-1 sp.

Row 4: Ch 3, work 1 dc in each dc across to the center ch-1 sp, then work 1 dc in the ch-1 sp. Keeping the working yarn in front of the twig, ch 1 and work 1 dc in the same ch-1 sp. Work 1 dc in each remaining st, turn — 10 dc and 1 ch-1 sp.

Blocking and Stiffening the Tree

Place the finished tree on a blocking mat or another protected surface. Straighten the twig and use rustproof pins to shape the sides and bottom edge of the tree.

Apply fabric stiffener according to the product directions. Allow the tree to dry completely before removing the pins.

Add a thread loop for hanging if you would like to use the finished tree as a Christmas ornament. You can also attach a pin backing to turn it into a festive brooch.
