Last week I shared with you my pretty Versatile V-Stitch Cowl to Wrap Crochet Pattern. I hope you have been having fun working it up! I had some leftover yarn and decided to design a matching wristwarmer crochet pattern … I didn’t want to waste a single yard of that yummy alpaca!! Here is the pattern so you can work up a pair too!
V-Stitch Wristwarmer Crochet Pattern
Here’s what you need:
- the leftovers from the 1 hank (665 yds) of Superfine Alpaca used for the Versatile V-Stitch Cowl to Wrap Crochet Pattern here
- H hook
- tapestry needle and scissors
This free crochet pattern is written in U.S. crochet terms and abbreviations. Stitch counts are provided at the end of each row to help you keep on track.

Add this pattern to your Ravelry library.
Gauge: 12 sc and 12 rows = 4 inches.
Special Stitch:
V-stitch (V-st) — [1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc] in specified stitch.
(Make 2)
Ch 26, Sl st in furthest ch from hook to begin working in the round, taking care not to twist the chain.
Row 1: Ch 1 (does not count as st here and throughout), work 1 sc in same ch as join and each ch around, join — 26 sc.
Row 2: Ch 1, working in back loops only this round, work 1 sc in same st as join and each st around, join — 26 sc.
Rows 3 through 5: Ch 1, work 1 sc in same st as join and each st around, join — 26 sc.
Row 6: Ch 1, working in back loops only this round, work 1 sc in same st as join and each st around, join — 26 sc.
Row 7: Ch 4 , work 1 dc in same st as join (counts as first V-st), skip next st, *V-st in next st, skip next st, repeat from * around, join in 3rd beginning ch — 13 V-sts.
Row 8: Ch 1, work 2 sc in the ch-sp of each V-st around, join — 26 sc.
Row 9: Ch 1, working in back loops only this round, work 1 sc in same st as join and each st around, join — 26 sc.
Rows 10 through 30: Repeat Rows 3 through 9 three times.
Rows 31 through 34: Repeat Rows 3 through 6.
Fasten off, weave in ends.

How do i do a thumb hole in the v stitch fingerless gloves pattern?
Chain 26? It’s not big enough for a wrist. Am I missing something? Im using a thin wool….. I’m confused help, how do I make it for bigger hands.
Hi Julia 🙂 Are you using a DK weight yarn and a size H hook? If so, you can try to go up a yarn and hook size or try crocheting your chain a little looser. Hope that helps!
I just used your lovely design to make a fingerless glove. I altered it a bit to include a thumb hole and used Caron Simply Soft Paints in Oceana. The result is beautiful. I’ll be donating a set of gloves and the matching cowl to a fellow single mama for Christmas. My young daughters picked the yarn out. I’m thankful to those of you who create such great patterns and share them with the world so those like me on a budget can still manage to make beautiful things for friends and family.
This is such a beautiful pattern. I just love it! Thank you for sharing it. I’m starting it now and was wondering if there is a gauge for it. I didn’t notice one but may have missed it.

These are so pretty. I’ve been looking at patterns for fingerless gloves & these seem even better because you can just slide them up or down. Now I’m going to go look at the scarf pattern. Thanks!
