Stitch up this American Flag Wreath Crochet Pattern to celebrate the 4th of July or to add some flair to your Americana decor!
American Flag Wreath Crochet Pattern

Here’s what you will need:
- 12 in. Styrofoam wreath
- red, white, and blue worsted weight yarn, approx. 218 yd each (shown here in Knit Picks Brava Worsted in Red #25712, White #25694, and Solstice Heather #25702)
- US H-8 / 5 mm crochet hook
- US G-6 / 4 mm crochet hook
- pearl pins
- tapestry needle and scissors for finishing

Wreath
H hook
With blue, Ch 19 (or the length you need to fit around the tube of the wreath).
Row 1: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across, turn — 18 sts.
Rows 2–35: Ch 1 (does not count as st), 1 sc in each st across, turn — 18 sts
Rows 36–39: Join red, ch 1 (does not count as st), 1 sc in each st across, turn — 18 sts.
Rows 40–43: Join white, ch 1 (does not count as st), 1 sc in each st across, turn — 18 sts.
Rep Rows 36-43 8 more times.
Rows 108-111: Join red, ch 1 (does not count as st), 1 sc in each st across, turn — 18 sts.
Row 112: Join blue, ch 1 (does not count as st), 1 sc in each st across, turn — 18 sts.
Fasten off, weave in ends.
Star Pattern (make 7 or as many as desired)
G hook
With white, make a magic ring (as an alternative to the magic ring, you can ch 4 and join with a slip stitch in the furthest chain from the hook to form a ring).
Round 1: Ch 1, work *[1 sc, 1dc, ch 2, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 dc] in ring, rep from * 4 more times, join.
Fasten off, weave in ends.

To assemble your wreath, fold strip in half and Sl st Rows 1 and 112 to form a ring. Wrap fabric around wreath form and sew edges together to enclose around wreath. Arrange stars on blue portion of wreath as desired. Stitch into place or use pearl pins to fasten to wreath.

Lovely! I bought 18″ and 20″ wreath forms and your pattern was easily adjusted to fit the 18″ (I haven’t finished the 20″ but am confident it will work up just as good! Thank you! I’d post a pic but couldn’t figure out how! LOL!
What do you use for a hanger?
I held all three colors together and using a K hook chained 20 slipped stitched together to make a loop then sewed it to the back of the wreath.
I want to make the American flag wreath pattern for my son but don’t know where I could print it out. Please let me know where to find the Kline to print it out.
