How to Print and Use the Care Tags
For the best results, print the PDF on white cardstock or heavyweight printer paper. Choose the Actual Size or 100% setting in your printer menu.
Cut out the individual tags, then punch a hole near the top. Attach the appropriate tag to your handmade gift with ribbon, baker’s twine, or a strand of coordinating yarn.
You can also tuck the tag inside a gift box or project bag. If desired, write a personal message, the fiber content, or additional care information on the back.
Choosing the Correct Care Instructions
Refer to the yarn or fabric label before selecting a care tag. If your project combines several materials, follow the directions for the most delicate fiber used.
It is also helpful to save the original yarn labels or photograph their care instructions when beginning a project. That way, you will have the information available when the gift is ready.

Kara, thanks so much for the gift tags. Care instructions are so very important when giving a gift of yarny goodness! I have my own care instruction tags that read: love me….use me…..wash me….mend me if need be! However, they only pertain to machine wash items. These will be great for my holiday knitting/crocheting gifts.
