Ellen so graciously agreed to share a little about herself and more about what we can expect this season on Knit and Crochet Now! Ellen, I am so excited you agreed to share a little about yourself and this new season of Knit and Crochet Now! with my readers. For those who don’t know you yet, can you tell us a little about yourself?
I grew up with a crafty mom. My mom dabbled in every fiber craft she could find. Though she wasn’t a constant crafter, she always had multiple works in progress and we made frequent trips to the craft store. My dad was a good sport about wearing her knitted hats and using her scrap yarn blankets. In this way, crafting was a respectable and fun way to spend time.
Congratulations on your new position as the editor at Crochet! magazine! That is so exciting. Are you already hard at work on your debut issue?
Yes! I am already laying the groundwork for my debut issue of Crochet! magazine, Autumn 2014. I’m excited to wade through the lovely stack of submissions for projects and articles and bring terrific content to the readers.
Can you give us a hint of some of the projects you will be sharing this season on Knit and Crochet Now!?
The quality of this season’s projects of Knit and Crochet Now! are so great! When I saw the wide variety of projects, techniques and beautiful yarns I was very pleased to share them with the viewers. This upcoming season has a scarf focus, called “Scarf of the Week”. I was happy to design an asymmetrical motif crochet scarf that I think viewers are going to love. I also enjoy knitting and many of the knit scarves left me itching to pick up the needles and try the simple but eye-catching techniques. With the ‘Scarf of the Week’ segment I think I could get all my holiday gift projects made as the season airs.
Thank you again, Ellen, for taking the time to share with us!
