I don’t know about you, but when I am working on grannies I usually use small balls of yarn that I have left over from other projects. Usually they are so small that it hardly makes sense for me to tote them around in my large project bag. This is where the Chic-a Triad comes in so handy. The Triad is a 3-in-1 project tote that includes a mini-tote, key ring pouch, and pattern holder.
The mini-tote measures 4 in. by 4 in. by 10 in. and is just large enough to hold a few small balls of yarn, my hook and scissors, a few finished squares, and the little matching pouch. It is made from oilcloth, so it is durable and can easily be wiped clean.
The key ring pouch measures about 2¾ in. by 2 in. by 6 in. and can hold my cell phone, keys, and a few dollars, but you could also attach your keys to the ring on the side of the pouch.
I think my favorite part of this set has to be the pattern holder. You just slide your pattern into the side of the sturdy holder and you have a nice protective sleeve to keep your pattern neat and clean. This is great for me because by the time I am usually done with a project, the pattern is crumpled, tattered, and may even have a spill or two on it. I also love how there is an elastic guide that you can slide up and down the holder to help you keep track of where you’ve left off. I find myself using this holder even without the Triad and shoving it into my larger project bags. The holder also has snaps on the side so that you can fold it into a triangle, as shown in the first pic, to use as a pattern stand and turn easily as you work.
Another great thing about the pattern holder is that it can wrap around the mini-tote when you are done. This makes it easy to carry everything, but I also like it because I feel like it protects the tote itself from tears or possible punctures from scissors and needles.
Overall, I would say this set is perfect for your smaller projects and is reasonably priced at about $48.00 in retail stores. I also love how Chic-a has so many bright and colorful designs.
