I have a great giveaway for you all today … The Knitter’s Journal: From Swatch to Stash from Jane’s Knitting Kits. And don’t be fooled by the name because this journal can be an invaluable resource for knitters and crocheters alike! It has everything you need to keep your projects organized every step of the way … yep, from swatch to stash. This is also a great tool for keeping track of all those holiday projects and gifts!
Jane’s Knitting Kits is boutique knitting company run by avid knitter, Jane Klein. Jane created The Knitter’s Journal to serve as her ultimate reference guide for knitting abbreviations, graph symbols and paper, measurements, and to house swatch and yarn samples all in one place … just take a peak at the table of contents!
The Knitter’s Journal is a beautiful, hardcover spiral book and can be great for knitters and crocheters to take notes and sketch ideas. It includes handy information such as …
- standard body measurements for both children and adults
- ease allowances
- yarn information including fiber types and their attributes
- yarn weights chart
- estimated yarn requirements for common projects like hats, scarves, and socks
- 60 pages of graph paper
- yarn stash inventory page with a place to keep yarn samples
- intarsia and colorwork planner
- gauge ruler
- plastic slide close pocket
- monthly events pages with fiber events and holidays for each month and a place to jot down your own seasonal ideas of birthday reminders
Some additional tools that knitter’s will appreciate include…
- knitting abbreviations
- needle inventory
- standard graphing symbols
But if you are a crocheter, there is plenty of room to store crochet references as well. Just go to my Resources tab above and print off your most commonly referenced pages and tuck them in the Journal.
My absolute favorite aspect of The Knitter’s Journal are the pockets to hold swatches. They are made of thick glossy cardboard and I have found that if you use a felt tip pen you can wipe it off and reuse it again and again for future projects.
One lucky Petals to Picots winner will receive a Knitter’s Journal. This giveaway will run now through 11:59 pm on November 30, 2016 and winner will be announced by December 1, 2016.
