Blocking with Eucalan and a Giveaway

Print Friendly, PDF & Email
Welcome to your next stop on the Wrapture Blog Tour!

I’ve long been a fan of Eucalan products for washing my crocheted items and delicates, so I was definitely excited when I was invited to join in the Wrapture Blog Tour to try out their new newest product, Wrapture, by knit and crochet designer Kristin Omdahl. I love the scent of Wrapture, with its infusion of Night Bloom Jasmine essential oil.

And Eucalan has generously offered to give away one 100mL bottle of Wrapture so a lucky reader can try it too!

Awhile ago I shared with you some tips for using Eucalan to care for your hand knit and crocheted items, so today I want to share with you some tips for blocking with Eucalan.

So, why would you want to use Eucalan for blocking?
  • the lanolin acts as a natural conditioner that relaxes the fibers of the yarn
  • the essential oils act as a natural repellent to protect your piece from moths
  • there is no need to rinse the Eucalan from the piece
  • it smells pretty 🙂
What you’ll need:

  • a basin or spray bottle
  • a small amount of Eucalan, approximately 1 tsp per gallon of water
  • clean, dry towels
  • pins
  • your piece to be blocked
Mix a small amount of Eucalan to a basin or a spray bottle filled with water. Submerge your piece in the water or spray until fully wet. Let the piece sit for a few minutes so the lanolin can really absorb into the fibers. Next,  lay your piece between two towels and roll to press out the excess water. Your piece should still be damp. Then, place your piece on another dry towel and pin it into shape. Allow to dry overnight or until fully dry.

That’s it! You’re done!
