I truly believe in the talents and value of indie artists and small businesses. They provide such a wealth of unstifled creativity and possibility. Therefore, I feel that it is so important that we support them!
This weekend’s spotlight is on …
“My name is Diana. I’ve been married to Kevin for 16 years and we have three little girls. I teach my oldest daughter at home and plan to do the same with my other daughters when they start school.
My grandma taught me to crochet when I was 12 years old and I loved it from the start. My grandma and I crocheted so similarly that when I would visit I would pick up whatever she was working on and do a few rows. In fact, after she had a stroke many years later she gave me the tablecloth she had been working on because she knew I could finish it and no one would know the difference.
Through the years I haven’t done as much crocheting as I would like to. I’m trying to change that with the launch of Diana’s Imagination where I hope to teach other busy moms to crochet or maybe just encourage them to get started again like me. In my blog I’ve challenged myself to crochet the 99 dishcloth patterns from The Big Book of Dishcloths by Leisure Arts in one year. I’m three months into my challenge and I’m only on number 10. But that’s okay. I’m determined to finish!
When I have crocheted enough dishcloths and other items I plan to sell them in my Etsy store or on my Facebook page. I also have some ideas for patterns in the near future.
It is my hope that my website/blog, Facebook page, and Etsy store will enable me to stay home with my girls indefinitely. It will also be a learning experience for my children because I plan to teach them everything I know and learn about crocheting. I hope you’ll join me on my journey.”
