A bit about Nikki ….
“I used to spend summers with my grandparents traveling around and building churches. While I was too young to help with the building my grandmother and I loved the alone time together. When we weren’t getting meals ready for the hard workers, she introduced me to all kinds of crafts, most importantly crocheting.
From the time I was ten years old I’ve been crocheting and I’ve always loved it. Fast forward to 2013 and a cold front went through my town. If you’ve heard anything about Texas, I’m sure you know that us Texans don’t handle cold weather very well and like most Texans, I didn’t own a good scarf. So sitting there, freezing, in my study I looked over at some yarn leftovers and decided I was going to make myself one. A few hours later and…..tada…my first scarf!
The scarf was the first project that I had ever finished (minus a horribly misshapen afghan I attempted when I was in Junior High and worked on all the way through High School). I was, quite literally, hooked on crocheting from that moment on. I couldn’t get enough of the patterns and new ideas.
After making a few items, like scarves for the family, a purse for my niece, and a beanie for my baby nephew, my husband made the suggestion that I try making a teddy bear. I thought it was a wonderful idea. (Here’s another fun fact about me, I’m obsessed with stuffed animals! Dogs, cats, bears, ducks, elephants, I love them all.) My first teddy bear was a brown and teal teddy. He is the most loveable thing ever. Not long after that I opened my Etsy shop. Most of my products are inspired by my love of stuffed animals and my niece and nephew. I love cute and cuddly things and that is what I want to share with the world. Everyone should have something that they can snuggle up with, big or small. So here I am just sharing my love for crocheting one cuddle at a time.”
