Have you heard about Project Yesu?
I learned about this awesome project from my bloggy friend Amy over at One Artsy Mama and it sounds so amazing! Last March, a young lady named Mallory started Project Yesu in the hopes of helping to provide food, medicine, and education for children in Uganda. Last year, Mallory and her team were able to collect 450 lbs of supplies and travel to Uganda to deliver them to the people.
This June they are traveling to Uganda again. This time, they have a goal to take as many pillowcase dresses as they can collect to the poverty-stricken young girls. Want to help? You can make a pillowcase dress in any size, colors, or fabric you want. I even think a little crochet would be nice
Never made one before? Me neither! Luckily, One Artsy Mama has some links to tutorials for making the dresses. She even has a link to a “no sew” version! The deadline to send your dress is May 31 and the details for shipping can be found here.

That’s a good job you are doing, Kara. I would like to, but my hands are full doing a similar thing for India. There are some places in India where people face hand-to-mouth poverty. I donate loads of supplies every year, pay for one child’s food scheme in an aids affected orphanage and I also pay the entire education fee for my maidservant’s daughter and few other miscellaneous things…not bragging about it just wanted to share that evertime I purchase my yarn, I feel bad about a child in India, somewhere, sleeps without food….doing few things, I can sleep peacefully.
I am going to get this a try. Check back with you soon.
